Spring time

Happy spring!

I am so happy to see spring arriving with little flowers, warmer weather and for me lots of traveling. Some of my travels were just fun and others were to visit churches with fun along the way.

One Friday afternoon I got a phone call from GBIM congratulating me on officially being accepted for another term. Yeah! Now the ‘fun’ begins with support discovery, finding prayer partners and as always in the back of my mind packing (do you know how many tubes of toothpaste you use in a year?).

Another answer to prayer was my job search ending successfully. I was kind of worried about finding just a temporary job. However God is in control and everything is possible for Him. The therapeutic daycare where I used to work needed somebody to fill in for the summer. I said yes! My start date was the first part of June (which frees me up to attend my friend’s wedding!) but I have been subbing for different people already. I’m excited about this because it keeps me working with children.

I was in Ohio from April 30 – May 12 and was able to see lots of people. My schedule was full and I ended up staying with different people (thanks Di, Kevin, Brenda, Lee Ann, Beth, Carol and Larry and Vicki) and meeting various other people. God again blessed me by providing me with a van to use during my time up north.  Many thanks Crenshaws!

The day after I got back home I packed my bags again and headed to Florida with my sister Lisa. We stayed with our sister Karen (and husband Bob) near Jacksonville. Friday we had some sister time at Disneyworld (my first time ever) and on Saturday at the beach. It was a magic weekend!

Now, that you have heard what I have done let me tell you my future plans.

Fall 2009 – Cross cultural training near Charlotte, NC for two months

January 2010 – French language study in France for one year

January 2011 – Bangui, CAR for a two year term

While I am here in the USA I would like you to pray for the following:

U – Ulrich and the other orphans to finish out their school year strong

S – support (financial and prayer) discovery for me

A – Abiba and the other True Love Waits leaders to practice what they preach

Thanks for your prayers!
